MOUNT MORRIS — Mount Morris scored four unanswered goals in the second half as they blanked LetSaw 4-0 in LCAA boy’s soccer action.
Senior Ben Bacon had the hat trick scoring all his goals after the intermission “with hustle and finishing low composed shots,” said M-M coach Joe Connolly.
Senior Payton Bownds scored the last goal for Mount Morris.
Senior Jack Lonsberry had two assists on the night and seniors Lance Warren and Ethan Provino each added an assist.
Junior keeper Aidan Stanley had his second shutout of the season with six saves.
“Aidan played really well, he was vocal and his decision making was on point,” added Connolly.
Mt. Morris improved to 5-2 on the season.
“We couldn’t finish a couple easy ones and Letchworth was gritty and did a real good job winning 50/50 balls,” Connolly said of the first half. “We came out the second half with a little more intensity, possessed well and we’re able to find the back of the net.”
BOYS SOCCER
Pavilion/York 9, Cal-Mum 1
P/Y’s Jon King and Kyan Tiede each had hat tricks during their blowout victory over Cal-Mum.
Tiede scored the game’s first three goals — all within the first 13 minutes of regulation.
He also added two assists.
King scored once in the first half and twice after intermission.
Brandon Levey, Zack Tillotson and Aiden Boyd also scored goals for P/Y, who improved to 6-1-0 on the season.
Cal-Mum’s goal came early in the second half from number Tyler McClurg.
Kaylen Peffers recorded six saves for P/Y, who hosts Le Roy Friday night.
Leroy 1, Byron-Bergen/Elba 0
LeRoy ‘s Parker Dowell scored the lone goal of the game as the Knights nipped BB/Elba in non league action.
The goal came off an assist from Maicen McKenzie.
Andrew Pocock made 10 saves for his second clean sheet of the season.
Le Roy improved to 4-3 while BB/E fell to 7-2.
Avon 6, Perry 0
Unbeaten Avon built a 3-0 halftime lead and coasted to the LCAA win.
Josh Harter, Hudson Volpe and Lee Hartke all scored in the first half.
Hartke, Austin Lattuca and Trevor Stroud scored second half goals for the Braves, who improved to 8-0 and will visit Geneseo Friday afternoon for a 3 p.m. start.
Keshequa 3, Geneseo 1
Nathan Thayer scored just four minutes into the game assisted by Ian Hinrich as the Indians took the LCAA match.
Thayer also scored a second goal midway through the second half.
Hinrich added a goal of his own and also finished with two assists.
The sophomore Hinrich has 17 goals and five assists on the season. Ethan Bennett scored Geneseo’s lone goal off an assist from Adam Neidermaier.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
York over Honeoye
York defeated Honeoye in non-league action.
Scores were 25-8, 25-6 and 25-18.
York (4-3) was led by Joanna Geary with 10 assists, four aces and one kill while Claire Cucinotta had nine aces and two kills.
Mia Hilyard added five kills while Molly Grant had three kills and three aces.
Letchworth over Geneseo
Host Letchworth won in five sets — 25-14, 25-27, 25-16, 21-25 and 15-5.
Alannah Roberts led the way with 11 digs, 10 kills and six aces, while Morgan Brace dished out 24 assists with nine digs, six kills and two aces. Sasha Bellamy added seven kills and two digs, Jaylene Cole had 23 digs and two kills and Abbie DeRock added 10 digs, five kills and two aces.
Also for Letchworth, Reagan Bannister contributed 10 digs, four kills and three assists while Sarah Andrews had three blocks and three kills.
Geneseo was led by Maggie Kennedy with eight kills and Mia Loughlin with 15 assists.
Letchworth is 6-1 while Geneseo is 4-2.
Livonia over Attica
The Lady Blue Devils took their first loss of the season against Livonia Wednesday in non league action.
Livonia won by scores of 26-24, 16-25, 25-22, 25-27 and 17-15.
The Bulldogs were led by Emma Simmons with 25 digs, 11 kills and five acs while Ella Keller had eight digs, seven kills and one block.
Sara Johnson added an incredible 31 digs for Livonia (6-1).
Ellie Cusmano led Attica with 12 kills and 11 digs while Maddie Robinson had 10 kills and seven digs. Libero Nalani Mercado had 21 digs and two aces while Olivia Mercado had six kills, four aces and three blocks.
Both setters had a productive night with Elise Dressel having 15 assists and nine kills and Maddy Durfee dished out 21 assists and three digs.
Attica is 6-1.
Pavilion over Warsaw
At Pavilion, Pavilion (7-1) beat Warsaw in 3 sets. 25-11, 25-10, 25-15.
Courtney Gurbacki had 12 service points including 6 aces and she had 8 assists. Cadence Call had 12 service points with 4 aces and had 9 assists. Cricket Coots had 5 assists.
Karlee Zinkievich had 11 aces and 9 kills. Lauren Kingsley had 15 kills and 4 digs.
Warsaw: Sophia Phillips had 3 aces, 1 dig, and 1 assists.
Perry over Avon
The Yellowjackets improved to 5-2 as Emma Darocha continued her consistent performance with 4 aces, 6 kills, and 8 digs on the night.
Jadison Butler contributed 4 kills, 1 block, and 1 ace, while Nellie Koronas tallied 19 assists, 5 digs, and 1 ace.
Strong performances from the Braves included Brenna Dolgos with 12 digs, Mollie Gunther with 10 assists and 9 digs, and Emma Vandevelt with 5 kills and 3 blocks.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Edison over Keshequa
Edison swept past Keshequa winning 25-15, 25-18 and 25-20.
Leading Keshequa was Graham Howe who served for eight points, and had two assists, John MacDonald served for seven points, and had two hits while Cameron Bean added six assists and five points.
