LIVONIA — A trio of Livonia/Avon Lakers’ lacrosse players are competing this week in their respective age groups at the New York State Regional Lacrosse Games in Albany.
The event, similar to the old Empire State Games, pits different regions against each other in a five day event, culminating with a medal round on the final day to compete for gold, silver and bronze.
Livonia’s Justin Skelly, who will be a senior this fall, is competing for 2022 Western; junior-to-be Jackson McEnerney is suiting up for 2023 Western and incoming freshman Henry Walters will represent the 2025 Western squad.
Skelly’s team is currently 5-0 while McEnerney’s 2023 team has started 1-4. Henry’s team is 3-2 heading into Saturday’s action.

The Lakers made it all the way to the sectional finals before losing 18-10 to HF-L
