SWAIN — Keshequa’s Malia Ras captured the Slalom event while Livonia’s Chas Doerflinger and Geneseo’s Andrew Slade won the Slalom and Giant Slalom respectively during Saturday’s Southern Tier Ski race at Swain Mountain.
Ras won her Slalom with a time of 54.82 while teammates Emma Jo Pierce (57.03) and Nicole Cartwright (57.22) were second and third respectively in the Slalom.
Doerflinger and Slade earned their wins Saturday in different events.
Doerflinger hit the finish line first in the one-run Slalom in 47.75 seconds while Slade captured the GS with a two run total of 1:19.35 including his first run of 40.09 and second run of 39.26 seconds.
Keshequa’s Kirsten VanDorn was second in the girls GS with a time of 1:24.75 while teammates Heather Moriarty and Ras were fourth and sixth respectively.
Also in the GS, Way-Co’s Callie Little was seventh while Keshequa’s and Cartwright was ninth and 11th respectively.
Avon’s Alissa Kaufman led the Braves with a seventh place finish in the Slalom while Livonia’s Catherine Rosser was 15th to lead the Bulldogs.
Also in the boys GS, Keshequa’s Jordon Luther was second while Livonia’s Jackson McEnerny and Aidan O’Keefe were seventh and eighth respectively while Keshequa’s Ryan Thayer placed ninth.
Doerflinger’s victory in Slalom led the way while teammate Jackson McEnerny was fourth followed by Way-Co’s Dillin Quackenbush placing fifth.
Livonia’s Max McEnerny was ninth while Luther was 11th to lead the Indians.
