Ossian/Dansville – Charles Henry Potter, 84, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a brief illness.
He was born in Jasper, N.Y., on June 25, 1936, a son of the late Andrew and Gertrude (Davis) Potter. He was married to Gertrude (Scutt) Potter who predeceased him in 2018.
Charlie was a farmer along with his son Robin and they ran a family farm in Ossian. Charlie was also a Town of Ossian supervisor and a town councilman, and a member of the Livingston County Board of Supervisors. He was part of the Agway Committee, Dairy Herd Improvement Board, and a member of Cornell Cooperative Extension.
Surviving Charlie are his children, Robin Potter, Janet Fowler, Sue (Jay) Bagley; sisters, Marilyn (Roland) Thurston, Joyce (Joe) Adcock; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday, June 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hindle Funeral Home Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where a memorial service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Ossian Center Cemetery.
