COVID numbers remain low across region

BATAVIA — The numbers of COVID-19 cases remained low in the GLOW region on Wednesday.

One new case was reported in Livingston County. In the meantime, one person tested positive in Wyoming County on Tuesday, while none tested positive in Genesee and Orleans counties, according to state data.

Here’s a county-by-county look at the data:

n Livingston County — One new case was reported Wednesday, for a total of at 4,706, according to the Livingston County Department of Health.

There were 15 active cases, down one from Tuesday. No hospitalizations were reported in the county but two residents were described as in intensive care.

A total of 4,645 recoveries have been reported. A total of 30,800 residents, or 48.7 percent of county residents, have received at least one vaccine dose, while 27,363 residents have completed the vaccine series, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker.

The county is reporting 46 COVID-19-related deaths. New York state reports 60 such deaths in Livingston County.

Livingston County has administered 142,191 tests for COVID-19 among county residents. The results include 137,485 negative results, according to the county’s COVID-19 tracking map. The infection rate among those tested is 3.31 percent.

The seven-day rolling average of positives is 0.8 percent, according to state data.

n Genesee County — New York State data indicated Wednesday that 27,510 or 47.8 percent of Genesee County residents have received at least one vaccine dose. A total of 24,458 residents have completed the vaccine series, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker.

The county’s seven-day rolling average of positive cases was 0.2 percent, according to the state department of health.

A total of 280 people were tested Tuesday, according to the state data tracker. None tested positive.

n Orleans County — In Orleans County on Wednesday, 17,345 residents, or 42.7 percent of county residents, have received at least one vaccine dose; 15,053 residents have completed the vaccine series, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker.

The county’s seven-day rolling average of positive cases was 0.5 percent, according to state data.

A total of 200 people were tested Tuesday, according to the state data tracker. None tested positive.

n Wyoming County — In Wyoming County on Wednesday, 17,453 residents, or 43.5 percent of county residents, have received at least one vaccine dose; 15,555 residents have completed the vaccine series, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker.

The county’s seven-day rolling average of positive cases was 0.3 percent, according to state data.

A total of 287 people were tested Tuesday, according to the state data tracker. One tested positive.
