GENESEO — Two COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in Livingston County.
The deaths involved a man in his 70s and a female in her 90s, Public Health Director Jennifer Rodriguez has confirmed. Both were from Conesus.
“We offer our deepest condolences to their families, friends and loved ones during this difficult time,” she said.
The county’s current COVID-19 vaccination rate was 57 percent as of Wednesday, according to the county Health Department. A total of 106 active cases were reported, along with a weekly positivity rate of 4.17 percent and an ICU bed capacity of 80 percent.
Five people were hospitalized.
“Please be mindful as the cooler weather approaches, Rodriguez said. “This is a transitional time of year when people, in general, are more susceptible to viruses and other infections.”
Wyoming County reported a total of 48 active cases on Thursday, down 17 from Wednesday. The county reports a total of 3,083 confirmed positive cases and 2,981 recoveries since the pandemic began.
Updated numbers for Genesee and Orleans were not immediately available as of Thursday afternoon.
On Wednesday, Genesee County had reported total of 138 active cases with a total of 5,934 confirmed positive cases and 5,191 recoveries since the pandemic began.
In Orleans County on Wednesday there were a total of 118 active cases with a total of 3,637 positive cases and 3,099 recoveries since the pandemic began.
