Kyle J. Webster

DANSVILLE - Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Dansville man who is a level one sex offender after finding images of a child under the age of 16 engaging in sexual conduct on his phone.

Investigator Connor Sanford arrested Kyle J. Webster, 23, Nov. 13 and charged him with possessing a sexual performance by a child and failure to register and verify, both felonies.

The later charge stems from Webster’s alleged failure to register e-mail accounts and login information for social media accounts with law enforcement as required by law.

Webster, who was incarcerated in the Livingston County Jail on a violation of probation charge, was turned over to deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention. He was later arraigned before Ossian Town Justice Gordon Wilson, who remanded Webster to the custody of the Sheriff on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond, the same amounts recommended by the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.

Sheriff’s Investigator Josh Monster and the Livingston County Probation Department assisted with the investigation.

Webster was arrested in 2018 after he was found to have conducted inappropriate searches on computers at Dansville Central Schools where he worked as a cleaner. Investigating deputies found no illegal images on the school’s computers, but did find images of child pornography on Webster’s cell phones.
