Wyoming County is included in a winter weather advisory that begins tonight and continues into Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says lake effect snow is expected with total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches in the most persistent lake snows.

The most snow will occur tonight inland across the Boston Hills and the higher terrain of Wyoming county, the Weather Service said.

The advisory, which is to be in effect from 7 tonight to 1 p.m. Friday, also includes southern Erie, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute, the Weather Service said.

Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.

There are no advisories for Genesee, Livingston or Orleans counties. In those counties, little or no snow accumulation is forecast tonight and tomorrow, with less than a half-inch of total accumulation by Friday night, according to the Weather Service forecast.
