Wyoming keeps COVID-free streak

BATAVIA — Four new COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday in the GLOW region.

Genesee County had confirmed three new cases as of 2 p.m. That brings the total up to 215.

Two of the new cases were in Batavia and the other one was in Bryon. None was in mandatory quarantine before becoming symptomatic.

Two of the people are in their 40s and one was in their 50s. One of the total active cases is hospitalized.

The Batavia VA Medical Center has had four cases overall. Neither it nor the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing have experienced any deaths.

To date, Genesee County has had 7,779 negative cases. It currently has 10 in the community under mandatory isolation, 29 in the community under mandatory quarantine, five total deaths and 146 community recoveries.

Orleans had no new positive cases, remaining at 263 cases overall. Of the total active cases, 13 are hospitalized.

The Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation Center has had 89 cases and 30 deaths, while Orchard Manor has had 57 cases and 20 deaths.

To date, Orleans County has had a total of 4,360 negative tests. It currently has three people in the community under mandatory isolation, with 11 in the community under mandatory quarantine; 51 total deaths; and 108 community recoveries.

The current snapshot of the antibody test results includes:

• Genesee County: Of the 1,553 antibody test results received, there were 45 who tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies.

• Orleans County: Of the 670 antibody test results received, total of 17 tested positive for the antibodies.

Oak Orchard Health is now able to provide expanded COVID-19 swabbing to the public at its Albion location. Future locations may be added later.

Anybody needing COVID-19 testing and meeting the criteria — being symptomatic or if it’s required for their profession — can call Oak Orchard Health at (585) 589-5613 for an appointment. No walk-ins will be accepted.

Oak Orchard Health will do its best to accommodate scheduling demands, but they ask people to be aware appointments may fill up quickly. The current testing schedule is Monday 3:40 to 4:40 p.m.; Tuesday 4 to 5 p.m.; Wednesday 2:20 to 3:20 p.m.; Thursday 3 to 4 p.m.; Friday 3:20 to 4:20 p.m.

One new COVID-19 case was reported Tuesday in Wyoming County.

The case occurred in the county’s southwestern quadrant that includes Arcade, Eagle, Java and Wethersfield. The person was in their 30s.

The county’s overall total has increased to 86, while the number of recoveries remained at 79. The county now has two active cases, while the number of people in mandatory quarantine has increased to 14.

Wyoming County’s current statistics include:

n A total of 28 cases have been confirmed in the northwest quadrant that includes Attica, Bennington, Orangeville and Sheldon. Two have been attributed to Attica Correctional Facility and all 28 have recovered.

n Twenty-five cases have been confirmed in the northeast quadrant that includes Warsaw, Perry, Middlebury and Covington. Nineteen of those have recovered and five have died.

n Fifteen cases have been confirmed in the southeast quadrant that includes Castile, Gainesville, Genesee Falls and Pike. All 15 have recovered.

n Eighteen cases have been confirmed in the southwest quadrant. A total of 17 have recovered.

The age breakdown included 18 people in their 20s; 16 people in their 40s; 15 people in their 60s; 13 people in their 50s; nine people in their 70s; eight people in their 30s; three people in their 80s; two people less than 20 years old; and two people in their 90s.

The county has had 4,625 negative tests.

No new coronavirus cases were reported Tuesday in Livingston County, with the overall total remaining at 122. One active case has been reported in the Mount Morris zip code, while recoveries were also stable at 113.

A total of 7,521 people have tested negative overall.
