Provided Photograph Members of Mount Morris Brownie Troop 51023 provided Thanksgiving meals to two families using money raised from Girl Scout cookie sales and community members who donated to the effort.

Girls in Mount Morris Brownie Troop 51023 wanted to help a family in their community by donating a meal for Thanksgiving. They ended up helping two families.

The girls purchased a turkey with money they had earned from selling Girl Scout cookies. They then asked the community for help with donating some of the other items.

“With the help of the great people of the Mount Morris community, the girls were able to collect enough food to donate a Thanskgiving meal to two families in need,” said Sarah Mann, who is Troop leader along with Melissa Huffman.

A second turkey was donated.

The meals included a bag of potatoes, stuffing, gravy, corn, green beans, yams, marshmallows, chicken stock, and a pie with whipped cream. The girls also included a box of Girl Scout cookies, festive plates and napkins, and a turkey roaster pan
