Members of the Geneseo fire and police departments are planning a parade through the village later this week to lift residents’ spirits and remind them that, yes, their emergency responders remain ready for action, even during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We just want to make sure people know we still are around,” said Steve Zabrocki, first assistant fire chief. “We’ve seen other departments doing it around the county – we figured maybe we would do” it too.

The parade is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m., according to Zabrocki. It will begin and end at the Geneseo Fire Hall, 133 Center St.
