The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for the overnight hours in all of the four-county GLOW region.

The advisory, to begin at midnight and continue to 8 a.m. Sunday, includes Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, Wyoming, Niagara, Erie and Chautauqua counties.

Temperatures in the lower to mid-30s will result in frost formation, the Weather Service said.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

Expect lows in the lower to mid 30s across much of Western New York, with mid to upper 30s east of Rochester where clouds and winds will persist a bit longer, the Weather Service said in a forecast discussion this morning.

There will also be areas of frost in Cattaraugus and Allegheny counties, the Weather Service said in a forecast discussion, but not enough to meet advisory criteria.
