Several local members of the New York Army National Guard have received promotions in recent months in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.

Those receiving promotions include:

n Cassidy Colf from Caledonia, assigned to the Company C, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, received a promotion to the rank of specialist.

n Brett Diener from Livonia, assigned to the 222nd Military Police Company, received a promotion to the rank of specialist.

n Phillip Smith from Dansville, assigned to the Company A, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry, received a promotion to the rank of private.

n Joshua Ver Hague from Geneseo, assigned to the Headquarters and Support Company, 642nd Aviation Support Battaliona, received a promotion to sergeant.

n Diego Leong from Livonia, assigned to Company A, 2-108th Infantry, received a promotion to the rank of specialist.

n Heather Paynefavo from Nunda, assigned to the Intelligence and Sustainment Company, 42nd Infantry Division, received a promotion to staff sergeant.

n Craig Campbell from Geneseo, assigned to the Company A, 2-108th Infantry, received a promotion to the rank of private first class.

n Benjamin Wilkinson from Livonia, assigned to the 105th Military Police Company, received a promotion to the rank of private.

n Trevor Purscell from Nunda, assigned to the 222nd Military Police Company, received a promotion to the rank of sergeant.

n Gary Stewart from York, assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 427th Brigade Support Battalion, received a promotion to the rank of chief warrant officer 4.

n John Vanslyke from Livonia, and assigned to the 222nd Military Police Company, received a promotion to the rank of sergeant.

n Kyla Phillips from Nunda, assigned to the Headquarters and Service Company, 642nd Support Battalion, received a promotion to the rank of sergeant.
