GENESEO – A harvest bazaar is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 in the Fellowship Hall of Geneseo United Methodist Church, 4520 Genesee St. (Route 63 near the new roundabout).

The event, presented by the church’s Bazaar Ladies, will featuring many handcrafted items.

Social distancing and the wearing of masks will be in effect as a precaution due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Credit cards will be accepted this year and cash sales will be accepted at a cashier’s station to facilitate health guidelines.

There will be three separate focus areas – the typical bazaar items, including 500 pot holders in many different patterns, a Christmas boutique, a selection of wall hangings of various sizes and colored patterns, quilted baby blankets, fabric tote bags and purses, and cloth masks.

Autumn, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas celebrations will be included in the various offerings.

With the guidance of the Livingston County Department of Public Health, a bake shop will be available for shoppers, and Brad Farthing’s silk flower arrangements will also be on display. Those sales are intended to help ongoing support for the Parish Outreach Center, which has been sponsored by the local church since 2004. Farthing’s floral arrangements will showcase the coming holiday seasons, in an assortment of styles and prices.

The United Methodist Women’s sale supports the group’s commitment to local, national and international mission causes. The event has been planned this year to help offset the cancellation of the annual Letchworth State Park’s Arts and Craft Show usually offered during this same weekend.

It is uncertain if the church’s Christmas Bazaar will take place in early December due to the pandemic.

Handicap accessible parking is available on the church property.
