Auditions set for ‘Bombs & Blooms’

GENESEO – Auditions are scheduled June 15 and 16 for a new production of “Bombs & Blooms,” a historical musical drama set during World War II.

The 70-minute production follows life on the homefront and the service of a B-17 pilot during World War II.

Auditions are set from 6 to 8 p.m. each night at the National Warplane Museum, 3489 Big Tree Lane.

Rehearsals will begin Aug. 23 and take place Mondays through Thursdays, though not all actors will attend all rehearsals.

Performances are scheduled 10 a.m. Sept. 30, 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and 4 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Museum.

Actors are compensated and required to sing.

Roles to be cast are:

n Army Private: male, age 17-26.

n Florist Shop Worker: male, age 30-50, African American

n Pilot wife: female, age 20-30

n Neighbor: female, age 20-40

n Rosie the Riveters: six women, age 17-45 (only 5 rehearsals required)
